Meet Adam T. Funk
Work Ethic & Drive
Adam’s journey begins well before he was born in Houston, Texas. In fact, it goes back over 150 years when both sides of Adam’s family fled persecution and injustice in Europe. Adam’s paternal grandparents battled the Nazis with strength and bravery. Adam’s great-grandparents fought religious persecution with integrity. Adam’s grandparents fought in several wars, created a young nation, and still raised four children. Strength and perseverance are in Adam’s blood.
Adam’s own parents immigrated to the United States with hopes, dreams, and a mere $500 in their pocket. They worked intensely to provide for their three sons, Adam being the youngest. Their hard work was an example to their sons who went on to become two accomplished trial lawyers and a renown facial plastic surgeon. Adam continued the family tradition and (a) became one of the youngest troop scouts to reach Eagle Scout rank; (b) received the International Bacculareate diploma in high school; (c) graduated from the University of Texas in three years with honors; (d) received the ultra-prestigious Order of the Barristers Award in Law School; and (e) became one of the youngest lawyers appointed to serve on a Multi-District Court Litigation Plaintiff’s Executive Committee. The immigrant’s intense work ethic is in Adam’s blood.
Personal Passion
Adam’s dedication to catastrophic-injury clients is not just professional — it is personal.
When his first child was born, she came into the world depressed, not breathing, and was rushed away to the NICU before Adam and his wife were able to hold her. What followed was fear, uncertainty, and the overwhelming worry that every parent in a crisis feels: Will my daughter develop normally? What will her future look like? How will we handle the medical costs if she doesn’t?
Thankfully, his daughter made a full recovery. But the experience changed Adam at his core. It opened his eyes to the emotional and financial devastation families face when something goes wrong in childbirth — and it ignited the passion that now fuels his work representing children and adults who suffer life-altering injuries.
Today, whether the case involves a birth injury, amputation, paralysis, or other life-changing injury, Adam brings the legal skill and personal understanding of what families endure. His clients know they have an attorney who has lived the fear, understands the stakes, and will communicate with them every step of the way. They know he will fight for them with the same intensity he would fight for his own child.
Small Firm Attention. Big Firm Results.
Before founding Funk Law Group, Adam worked at large law firms where he represented hundreds — and sometimes thousands — of clients at once. He quickly learned that volume practice came at a cost. Clients struggled to get updates. Phone calls weren’t returned as often as they should have been. Cases began to feel like inventory, not people.
That never sat right with him.
Adam founded Funk Law Group to do the opposite — to practice law deliberately, personally, and selectively. He intentionally keeps his caseload small so he can give each client the time, attention, and communication they deserve. Every client has direct access to Adam. Every case is handled with care. And every person who hires him gets a lawyer who knows their story, knows their struggles, and treats their case like it matters — because it does.
This limited-caseload, high-attention philosophy is not a marketing slogan. It is the foundation of the firm. It is why Adam takes only the cases he believes in, invests heavily in experts and investigations, and gives each client the kind of representation he wanted for his own family during their crisis.
